Why a chatbot prompt won't catch every keyword gap
Your CV matches a job description when the skills, tools and job titles in the ad show up in your CV, in words an ATS can read and a recruiter can search for. A chatbot prompt gets you part of the way, but it mostly rewrites what you give it. It rarely tells you which required skill is absent, and it can't see whether your file parses cleanly.
Assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot are built to produce fluent text, so they'll happily polish a bullet that never mentions the tool the hiring manager listed first. They also judge your CV as plain pasted text, not as the file a screening system actually receives. Columns, tables, icons and text inside images can scramble parsing, and none of that shows up in a chat window.
An automated check works from the other direction. HRLens reads your actual file, compares it with the job description you paste, and lists the skills the ad asks for that your CV doesn't show. You still decide what's true and what goes in. You just stop guessing which gaps exist and start fixing the ones that matter.

Questions job seekers ask before they check
Can ChatGPT tell me if my CV matches a job description?
It can help, but only with what you paste. ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini will compare two blocks of text and suggest edits, yet they won't see your real file's layout and won't reliably flag every required skill you left out. Use a prompt for wording, then run an automated check to confirm the gaps and ATS readability.
Does HRLens give me a match percentage?
No. HRLens doesn't reduce your CV to a single keyword-match percentage. When you paste a job description, the analysis lists the skills the ad asks for that your CV is missing and tailors its suggestions to that role. You also get an overall score out of 100 and five category scores, including ATS compatibility.
Should I paste a link or the job description text?
Paste the text. HRLens accepts a job URL, but LinkedIn and Indeed block automated fetching, so copy the full description from those sites and paste it in. Include the requirements, responsibilities and nice-to-haves, because that's where most of the skills and tools you'll be compared against are listed.
Is the CV check free?
The core check is free: an overall score out of 100, five category scores, your strengths and a visual layout analysis. The Full Analysis costs $3.99 and adds a fix list, reasons you might be rejected, blind spots, your hiring probability and a salary estimate. Comparing against an earlier analysis needs the $8.99 Premium Package or All-Access.
Does it work for Hebrew or bilingual CVs?
Yes. You can upload a Hebrew CV as a PDF, Word file or image, and HRLens reads it with Hebrew text recognition. The interface itself is in English. If you'd rather start fresh, the CV builder writes Hebrew CVs in Hebrew and exports them right to left, which suits applications in Israel.
Should I add every missing keyword to my CV?
Only the ones you can back up. If the ad asks for Kubernetes and you've used it, name it in a bullet that shows what you did with it. If you haven't, leave it out. Interviewers will ask, and a stuffed skills section hurts you more than an honest gap. Prioritize the skills the ad lists first or repeats.
