How we score CVs
Every analysis evaluates a CV across five dimensions used by hiring teams and ATS software:
- Experience depth — relevance, seniority signals, and progression across roles.
- Technical and role-specific skills — match against the keywords and toolchains hiring teams search for.
- Measurable impact — whether bullet points carry numbers, scope, and outcomes rather than responsibilities.
- Clarity and structure — readability, formatting, and section ordering.
- ATS compatibility — formatting, parsing, and keyword issues that cause CVs to be filtered out before a human ever sees them.
Editorial standards
Our editorial content — interview guides, ATS explainers, salary-negotiation playbooks, and role-specific resume guidance — is written and reviewed by the HRLens Editorial Team, drawing on hiring and recruiting practitioners with hands-on experience reviewing CVs at scale, direct testing of ATS platforms (including Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Taleo) and AI screening tools, published research and primary sources cited inline, and aggregate anonymized signal from analyses run on HRLens itself.
Articles list a publication and last-updated date. We refresh guides when ATS behavior, AI screening practice, or labor market data changes meaningfully.
